The guest house has a friendly relaxed atmosphere and is situated in a quiet elevated location with about a 20 minute walk down to the city centre. Centrally located, the Carfax Hotel is an ideal base from which to work or explore one of Europe's oldest and finest cities. The celebrated architect Thomas Baldwin created Great Pulteney Street in 1789, using the famous honey-coloured Bath Stone. Today, the hotel still retains many beautiful original Georgian features, with large rooms with high ceilings and large sliding sash windows.

There are 31 uniquely furnished and individually heated rooms, all of which are en suite with either a bath or shower, or more often both.
